Eric Summers

Meet Eric
I’m Eric, a lifelong Tulsan, Bishop Kelley High School graduate, and proud University of Tulsa alum.
For most of my professional life, my days have looked a little different than they do now. I built my career analyzing risk and financial data for major Tulsa-area corporations, most recently QuikTrip Corporation. It’s a career centered around precision, problem-solving, and attention to detail—and, as it turns out, those same skills translate remarkably well to woodworking.
Some might call what happened next a midlife crisis. I prefer to call it finding my second act.
I decided I wanted to learn something completely new, and that something was woodworking. What began as curiosity quickly became a passion. I dove in headfirst, studying techniques from some of the best craftsmen in the country and learning not only how to build furniture, but how to understand the material itself.
One of my favorite parts of the process is giving wood a second life. Whenever possible, I source locally salvaged and urban-salvaged timber, including trees removed by local arborists that might otherwise be discarded. Every tree has its own character—its grain, knots, movement, imperfections, and history. Learning how that wood dries, ages, moves, and ultimately becomes a piece of furniture is as much a part of the craft as building the piece itself.
You’ll also notice something different about many of my builds: you won’t find nails or screws holding them together.I use traditional and modern woodworking joinery—including mortise-and-tenon joints, dowel joinery, dados, rabbets, splines, and other precision-fit techniques—to create pieces designed for strength, longevity, and craftsmanship you can actually see.
I don’t want to simply build furniture. I want to build pieces worth keeping.
That might mean a handcrafted dining table where your family gathers for decades, custom cabinetry, outdoor furniture, shutters, fencing, or a completely original piece that begins as nothing more than an idea in your head.
Take a look around the site to see a few of my recent projects. But don’t feel limited by what you see here. Some of my favorite projects begin with someone saying, “I have this idea…”
I’d love to hear yours.
Together, we can turn that idea into something beautiful, functional, and built to last—a piece that doesn’t just fill a space, but becomes part of your family’s story.
Built by hand. Built with purpose. Built to leave a legacy.
